How to Clean Moly Out of a Barrel

"To clean the moly out of the rifle I would use KROIL oil. You can find it at your gun shop or sometimes in the hardware store. Run a saturated patch through the bore. The first one will usually remove most of the powder fouling. Then run another one through and let the bore soak about 4 to 5 minutes. Run two dry patches through the bore, then one wet patch and let it soak again. Then run two more dry patches through and it should be pretty clean. Check your dry patches.

When cleaning in the field I don't worry about getting all the moly out because I will shoot it again. I usually don't use a brush unless I need to clean out some copper fouling. If the patches look like you did not get out enough repeat the wet patches. When done for the day or longer, a few more passes will help. If you want to get more out, run some JB Bore Past through, as this will remove the small amounts. When I store the rifle I run a patch with some oil through the bore and wipe down the outside."
